Women entrepreneurs make for prudent borrowers, investing in them is profitable

8 Mar, 2024

IndiaP2P, established in 2021 by Neha Juneja, is a platform dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs. With 96% of its borrowers being women who lead small and medium enterprises (SMEs), particularly in rural areas, IndiaP2P has expanded its reach through partnerships with organizations and microfinance institutions across regions like Nagaland, the southern states, and Maharashtra. These collaborations provide vital capital to women entrepreneurs. In an interview with ETDigital, Juneja, CEO and Co-founder, discusses her goals for the platform, the focus on supporting women entrepreneurs, and the regulator's role in the fintech sector.

Neha Juneja (NJ): "We launched operations in 2022 with the core belief that women and small business owners are responsible borrowers. Investing in them is not only profitable but also meaningful, as it helps expand income opportunities, particularly for women. Based on this belief, we now primarily source loans from women-owned businesses across the country and curate these opportunities for retail lenders."
